Located on an isle that can be reached from the flat land through a long bridging road, for ages the Isle of Grado has been a favorite tourist resort for Austrian, German and Dutch guests, who choose to come here year after year to enjoy this quiet pearl of the Adriatic sea for its lovely beaches, its quiet atmosphere and its modern Spa center.

In the heart of the old town, the Città Vecchia, just strolling about Venetian-style little lanes and tiny squares, you will have the pleasure of admiring some paleochristian basilicas, the pictoresque harbour and the surrounding tiny little stone hourse, which are inhabited on a permanent basis.
If you are longing for physical wellness, thanks to its marine thermal springs and its beach facilities, Grado offers you the opportunity to access sand-baths, face and body treatments, regenerating baths and relaxing massages; the most sporty types can take advantage of the several structures and facilities to practise various activities, such as golf, sailing, kite-surf, etc.

By sailing for about half an hour when the tide is high, from Grado you can reach the isle of Santa Maria di Barbana, site for an important sanctuary, which is a routine pilgrimage destination and was built by the inhabitants of Grado, soon after the lagoon was freed from the pest.
